Imam an-Nawawi said:
“Praise be to Allah. Who singled out this nation with the science of Isnad, {this privilege} is shared by no other nation.”

The Muhaddith, Abdullahi ibn al-Mubarak {May Allah have mercy upon him} said:
“Isnad is part of this Deen {Islamic way of Life}, and if it was not for Isnad, then anyone could say whatever he pleases.”
